I'm pleased to say my application for an apprenticeship at the Ministry, in ancient text restoration. I just need to send my NEWTS scores once they're in, and then my place will be saved for me in September. I'm really excited about all this, and I have owled my parents to share this good news. How wonderful, everything is just falling into place, and I for one cannot wait for school to end, and to start working on my career. My mother on the hand, cannot wait for me to finish school, so she can start setting me on dates again I'm sure. How displeasing.
I'm quite excited for our upcoming Hogsmeade trip. My parents will be stopping in for lunch, which I have graciously declined. Pansy and I will be spending the day together, this is one of our last Hogsmeade trip as seventh years. I think it's important to keep up certain traditions with old friends. We might do a little shopping, have lunch at Three Broomsticks, and then buy a bag of the sweets we used to love when we were younger. I'm very much looking forward to spending some time with her like old times.
The weather is starting to turn nice, and I think it's important to take advantage of such a thing. Is anyone else up for studying outside?

It's getting to be so nice out, I'm actually quite looking forward to a Hogsmeade weekend. Pansy and I will be having tea. I might do a little shopping, and send a letter to my mother at the post office. I do love how they have owls of all sizes in there, I still think that's pretty adorable for some reason. I think it's going to be a nice weekend.
The book is almost finished, only about fifty more pages to go. It looks lovely, and I think I have truly made the right decision by going into text restoration. It was quite satisfying to see everything coming together.
I have just a bit of reading for charms to finish up, and then I think I can afford to read a chapter in my book, and then off to bed.

The Greengrass Easter dinner. It's really long, quite boring, and you're forced, and I do mean forced, to make small talk with ridiculously boring people. I loathe it every year, and always find some excuse to get away. I bring home work, check on my horse, he's lovely though. Best company of the night. Other than my sister of course, but that is a given.
Maybe I'll stay over break. That is a real possibility.

( Private, Astoria may read )
I see the weather is finally starting to turn a little. Hogsmeade weekends are about to become a little more enjoyable. As the ladies in this school I'm sure will agree with me, there is nothing worse than a skirt draft while walking to Hogsmeade.

( Hexed to Pansy and Astoria )
I've made a little more progress in my restoration in the Charms book Draco sent me for Christmas. It's a little less than half way done, and I still have high hopes that I'll have it finished by June. It looks quite beautiful, they put so much care in their texts back then. The illuminated script is lovely, the colours, and the gold ink. I'm going to submit in my application for the text restoration apprenticeship.
I'm going to the library to start working on that Potions' essay. It's proving to be a little challenging, and I think I might need a beginners guide to get it started as silly as that sounds.

Quidditch coming back is exciting, I look forward to attending the games. I do hope we bring home the cup this year. It seems like it's been ages since we've had the Quidditch cup. I know Draco will be a very fair and accomplished captain.

This first week has been...a little strenuous. The work load is challenging, NEWTS coming up quicker than one can remember. I've started a revision schedule, just to stay prepared. Certain subjects are more important than others, but I think that goes without saying.
Draco, your gift was very helpful. I've been working on the book you've sent me, and it's been giving me a little taste of what my future holds. I hope to have it completely finished by the end of term at the latest. This has only cemented my goal of restoring ancient texts. The work is both challenging, and rewarding.
Astoria, when you're free from your studies, I thought we could catch up over some tea? I've missed spending time with my favourite sister.

I am not all prepared for this holiday. My wrapping looks shoddy, my gifts are horrid. And I think Im getting a stress spot.
Only two more days until Christmas, and I can't deny I'm actually looking forward to it being over to be honest. It's a good deal of work for one little day. I get like this every year, I look so forward to the holidays, and then by the end, I'm completely burnt out. I'm still really looking forward to the food, that being said. Holiday food is always the best food, mum parts far more effort into her cooking for some reason. The biscuits are the best part, the icing and the decorations, it's a bit of fun.
Everyone's gifts should be arriving tomorrow. It sounds silly, but I would really, really appreciate it if you all waited until Friday to open them. Stupid, but it's more festive that way yeah?
And happy Christmas to all, I hope you enjoy your holidays.

This is my mother's favourite time of the year. She is all atwitter with Christmas cheer. My mother has decided to make a twilight tree, it's all decorated with blues and purples, and silver. I could ruin her moment, but I have decided to spread a little holiday cheer myself by keeping my comments to myself.
Its not that I don't care much for the holiday season. I love the winter weather, though, we rarely get snow down here. And I like the way the house smells as my mother cooks big dinners, and fresh biscuits. I love all that, I just hate having something built up, just to see it fall flat. It's just a holiday, there is really nothing to be so worked up about.
I do look forward however to returning to school, I'm ready to resume my studies. Despite my mother's best efforts, I'm not ready to submit to a life of trophy wifedom. There is something about the best part of my day being when I can serve my husband dinner and chase after our bratty children that doesn't sit well with me.
